What is this weekend?
A clear gospel witness for Star Valley
Star Valley Faith & Family Weekend is a multi-day outreach effort designed to place a clear, public gospel witness before our valley. Each gathering is built around a specific audience and schedule so families, men, ladies, students, and churches can participate in a natural way.
Our desire is not merely to host community events, but to use each gathering as an opportunity to point people plainly to Jesus Christ.
Guest speakers
Matt & April Downs
Evangelist Matt Downs serves as Camp Director at the Bill Rice Ranch and has served at the Ranch since 2003. He travels with his family throughout the year for evangelistic meetings and teen rally events, with a burden to help people understand their need of Jesus Christ as Savior.
Matt will be speaking for most of the weekend gatherings. His wife, April, will speak at Ladies’ Night Out.

Event details
Here are the basic who, what, where, and when details for each gathering. Everything except the Sunday worship service requires a ticket. Tickets are free for guests and will be available for pickup beginning September 2 at either Friendship Baptist in Thayne or Baptist Community in Afton.
Men’s Steak Out
Who: Men ages 15+
What: Friendly shotgun and rifle shooting competition
Where: Silver Spring Lane in Thayne
Ticket: Required · free for guests · available beginning Sept. 2
Back to School Bash
Who: Teens ages 12–19, or entering grades 7–12 this fall
What: Games, pizza, and fellowship
Where: Thayne Unity Pavilion
Ticket: Required · free for guests · available beginning Sept. 2
Star Valley Worship Service
Who: Everyone is invited (nursery provided)
What: A valleywide worship service focused on Christ, Scripture, and the gospel
Where: Thayne Community Center
Ticket: No ticket required
Tickets are required for Ladies’ Night Out, Men’s Steak Out, and Back to School Bash. Tickets are free for guests and will be available for pickup beginning September 2.
